Me and EP (Energy Psychology)

I was always looking for ways to fix myself. I studied nutrition, thinking that if I knew what to eat, I would be fixed! And perfect! But I was still a mess! Then I studied energy work. That must be the secret! And then.... you get the idea.

I loved each new experience and technique but there was always a nagging feeling underneath that I wasn't getting where I wanted to go. Self-judgement, self-sabotage and a deep feeling of undeserving were always perched on my shoulder. Their message was ‘it’s all my fault’ so I have to carry the load and not ask for help.

Enter EFT/Tapping

This changed my life completely. Tapping helped me find a safe space to look at my life. I realized I didn’t need to carry the load of self-judgement and I certainly did NOT need to be fixed! I needed to accept that each fearful, critical part of myself was doing the best it could to keep me safe. This helped me re-write those debilitating messages, and surround myself with self-compassion, courage and joy.

And it helped me let go of the load of unreasonable expectations and unhealthy coping mechanisms I had collected.

Conscious EFT™ has helped me understand my early challenges as a journey towards wholeness. I continue to learn how to nurture and nourish myself more deeply each day – with more ease and joy!

Georgia Barnwell

Lifelong Learner

I've had a lot of adventures on my way to today, and I expect many more! I started my working life as an optician, helping people see clearly. Then I studied nutrition, public policy and different forms of Energy work (Reiki, Quantum Touch, Eden Energy Medicine and more) and realize that my work has always been about helping people to focus on what's in front of them. I help people see clearly where they are now, where they want to go, and work with them to figure out how to get there. I use EFT/Tapping, Havening, Energy Medicine and Emotional Success Coaching to help clients move through limitations to navigate life with curiosity, confidence and joy!

About Our Tools for Change

(see more on our resources page)

Energy Medicine (EM) works with our subtle energy fields to re-balance energetic blockages, bringing the body's systems back to homeostasis. Many of us have experienced various versions of Energy Medicine. Seemingly diverse practices such as Reiki, acupuncture, tai chi and yoga are all energy medicine.

Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) works with our body's energy systems to bring balance. It has been a significant help to me and as a long-time student of EEM, I know how grounding and helpful these exercises can be to balance the electromagnetic vehicles we call home (our bodies). EEM supports foundation we need to hold the changes we want to make. Lean more.

Energy Psychology (EP) focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, sensations, and behaviors, and helping us process distressing events and patterns that hold us back in life. Learn more.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as Tapping, is the primary Energy Psychology tool that is most researched and understood. Over 300 peer-reviewed, scientific studies show how it can provide quick, safe and effective relief for anxiety, overwhelm, depression, trauma, addictions, chronic health issues, pain, athletic performance and challenges around money, relationships or career, and much  more! We can tap on anything!

Conscious EFTbuilds on what we have learned through research and experience over the last decades. The approach integrates the wisdom of EFT, polyvagal theory and neuroscience into a trauma-informed and phased approach that meets the client where they are today. It is a a fully developed transformational therapy/coaching framework integrating the EFT energy psychology modality within a trauma safe, systems informed, and neuroscience package. It helps clients grow and make sustainable change that makes sense for their lives today.

I use Conscious EFTon a continuum. I first invite clients to use tapping without words to manage symptoms of upset providing emotional first aid. I also invite them to tap even when they don't have anything distress. This  has been shown to 'tone' the nervous system and make us less vulnerable to the inevitable ups and downs of daily life. These practices, when used regularly create a more grounded state where we have the capacity to address and change challenging and unwanted memories and behaviour patterns that limit the possibilities in our lives.

Havening Techniques® is also a highly researched, evidence-based Energy Psychology practice that literally means "to put in a safe place'. Like it's close cousin, EFT, Havening Techniques are based in neuroscience and evolutionary biology are helpful for disturbing memories and limiting behaviour patterns.  For an official registry of Certified Havening Practitioners go to www.havening.org

About Making Change that Sticks

We use cutting-edge and evidence-based tools to create powerful change.

  1. Our nervous system is the key. We shift fear-based patterns and move into a connected, creative space where we have choice and control. This is where change comes from power instead of force. We are calm and centred and we create new possibilities.
  2. We break down our desired change into small steps that help us build new habits that support the changes we seek. We literally leave our old selves behind and become new.
  3. The small steps we choose are be meaningful and motivating to YOU! Not to someone else who wants change FOR you!
